What is a “Notary?”
A Texas notary is an individual appointed by the Texas Secretary of State to serve a four-year term as an unbiased witness when important documents are signed. A notary's job is to verify the identity of the person signing the document, make sure they are signing willingly, and confirm they understand what they are signing.
One of the most common duties of a Texas notary is taking an acknowledgment. During this process, the signer confirms that they willingly signed the document for its intended purpose. Before completing the acknowledgment, the following requirements must be met:
* The signer must appear before the notary in person or, if using online notarization, through a live two-way audio and video connection.
* The notary must verify the signer's identity.
* The document may be signed either before meeting with the notary or while the notary is present.
* The signer must confirm that they signed the document voluntarily and for the purpose stated in the document.
About Me
My name is Christopher Rios, and I am a retired United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant. During my 16 years of honorable and faithful service, I completed two deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. I also had the privilege of serving as a Drill Instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and as a Sergeant Instructor at Officer Candidate School, where I helped develop the next generation of Marines and military leaders.
Beyond my military career, I am a proud husband and father. Today, I continue my commitment to serving others by providing dependable, professional, and accessible notary services to veterans and civilians alike. My mission is to bring the same integrity, attention to detail, and dedication to every client that I demonstrated throughout my military service.
I travel directly to my clients for added convenience and have access to military bases to serve active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
